Biography

Found performing regularly as principal bass clarinetist of the University Wind Orchestra, Gwen Schajatovic is currently finishing her undergraduate degree in Music and Music Entrepreneurial Studies at the Florida State University.  There, she has been a member of the FSU Philharmonic Orchestra, FSU Symphonic Band, and FSU Wind Orchestra.  This past summer, she traveled to Belgium to attend the Belgian Clarinet Academy, where she was a featured soloist, performing the Mendelssohn Concert Piece No. 2 with colleague Darius Bennett.  Previously, Ms. Schajatovic has served as principal clarinetist for the semi-professional Academy Orchestra for the 2010-2013 seasons, and the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony for seasons 2007 – 2013.  Ms. Schajatovic has studied with many renowned teachers in the field, including: Dr. Robert Spring, Eddy Vanoosthuyse, Dr. Deborah Bish, Dr. Jonathan Holden, and Thomas Servinsky.  Gwen has had her articles published in the Tallahassee Democrat. Following her time at Florida State, she plans to pursue her master’s degree in Arts Administration so that she can achieve her goal of revitalizing the advertising and marketing of the classical music industry.
